Creators Win the Moment Before the Sale

Most brands brief their creators and influencers in November.

So does everyone else.

Rates tend to rise, content gets rushed, and audiences scroll through a feed full of the same discount codes.

The brands that get the most from creators start earlier and give them a different job.

The discount will do its own work on the day.

The creator's job is to make the product worth wanting before the price drops.

Why Creator Discovery Happens Before the White Friday Discount

By the time a shopper opens a retailer app on White Friday, she usually has a shortlist: the phone, the skincare range, the air fryer.

She built it in the weeks before, from what she watched, saved and was recommended.

My rule of thumb is that 5 to 15% of any audience is ready to buy right now, and the other 85 to 95% will buy later.

Creators are one of the best ways I know to reach that larger group, because people in the region turn to them to see how a product looks, feels and works in everyday life.

Peak season is when a lot of those future buyers become ready buyers at the same time.

The creator content that reached them in October is what puts your product on their list.

Influencer Licensing Requirements in the UAE and Saudi Arabia

I would put this step first, because it is new for many brands this year.

In the UAE, individuals advertising on social media have needed an Advertiser Permit from the UAE Media Council since 1 February 2026, subject to the applicable rules and exemptions.

Brands should check that the creators they work with have the required authorisation.

The published penalties include AED 10,000 for a first offence involving advertising without the required permit.

In Saudi Arabia, influencers carrying out covered social media advertising activities need a Mawthooq licence from the General Authority of Media Regulation.

Ask for the permit or licence number at the shortlist stage, before anyone is briefed.

A White Friday Influencer Marketing Timeline for MENA Brands

Early to Mid-October: Shortlist, Check and Seed

Choose creators for how well their audience matches yours.

Check permits and licences.

Send products early and give creators room to make content in their own language and dialect, with the Arabic and English versions planned together so each is written for its own audience.

Late October to Early November: Build Familiarity

Publish the content that teaches: reviews, comparisons, routines and first impressions.

This is the work that earns a place on the shortlist.

Singles Day to Cyber Monday: Convert

Switch to offer-led content with trackable links and codes, so every post can be tied to a sale.

December: Sustain Creator Activity

Gift guides, 12.12 content and year-end routines keep creators working through UAE National Day and into the Dubai Shopping Festival.

How to Write an Influencer Brief That Protects Creativity

A strong brief names the shopper action you want, the one message the creator should own and the proof they should show.

That is the box.

Inside it, the creator should sound like themselves.

Script every line and the audience hears an advert, and the trust that made the creator worth paying goes with it.

The box works in regulated categories too.

At First Abu Dhabi Bank we worked with creators on credit cards.

They could not give financial advice, and the brief was clear on that, but they could say they loved a card for the deals and offers it gave them.

The guardrails were tight and the content still sounded like them.

Our work with curated creators bringing card benefits to life shows how relevant creator selection and clear messaging can work together in financial services.

Agree usage rights in the contract before anyone films.

If you want to run the best creator content as paid media or on retail platforms in sale week, the contract has to say so.

It is the boring part, and it saves you in November.

How to Structure Performance-Based Influencer Payments

Fixed fees reward posting.

Performance fees reward results.

Where the category allows, blend a base fee with an incentive tied to clicks, sign-ups or sales.

It keeps creators motivated through the whole season and gives you a clear line from spend to revenue.

This approach brings together the strengths of creator-led engagement and performance-based marketing, linking trusted recommendations with measurable customer actions.

How to Measure Influencer Marketing Performance During White Friday

Measurement is where trust in creator marketing gets damaged.

Creators report their own views, platforms report their own reach, and two agencies will measure the same campaign two different ways.

App marketing went through the same thing and solved it with independent mobile measurement partners such as AppsFlyer.

Creator marketing is heading the same way, and the industry has matured a lot in the last few years.

For this season, give every creator their own link and code, and review sales and cost per sale every week alongside reach and engagement.

We have seen how this works in practice through influencer partnerships that drove more than $2 million in GMV for a global ecommerce leader.

How PerformR Helps Brands Manage Influencer Campaigns

PerformR, our creator marketing platform, is our operating system for creator marketing.

It runs a campaign in one place, from finding and vetting creators to the brief, contract, approval, tracking and payment, so creator spend can be judged against sales like every other channel.

Our creator marketplace gives brands access to talent across MENA, with tools to manage campaigns and measure results.

By the time the sale starts, the shortlist is already written.

The work in October decides whether you are on it.
